General characteristics
This SYNCROLIFT has 12 hoist (new Rolls-Royce equipment) with a lifting capacity of 320 tons each , with a maximum capacity less own steel of up to 3400 Ton, capable to lift ships of up to 2300 Ton weight (considering the distribution of weight). The transfer system allows carrying the ship to land, using railroads and transfer cradles, moving it to the final working area, for it repair or construction and later launch. The shipyard is located in a 22000 square meters place, with 130 meters water front, inside the port area, in which the SYNCROLIFT platform is located between two parallel docks that are mounted over concrete beams and piles sunk in the floor of the submarine floor. The 500 tons steel platform, built by Astilleros Comodoro with it's own staff using material of high resistance and welded whit submerged arch equipment, has a 65 meters long platform plus a 12 meters long removable bridge, and 20 meters wide free between the decks. The maneuvers area, built under a rail outline, has four tiers, or working areas, 100 meters long each one, which floor has been previously treated and consolidated on a high resistance geotextil mesh. This is where the rail rails for the transfer bogies are supported. Each working sector has connection of services of electric current in 110/220/380/440 Volts suitable for the necessary provision of supply to the ships and for the connections of the welders' equipments and other necessary machinery for the naval works. On the working area numbered as 4, the work shop is 70 meters long and 40 meters width (2 adjacent working areas, 20 meters wide each one). It has four bridge cranes with a capacity from 8 to 40 tons, free elevation of 22 meters below the hook. This allows that the welding, the surface treatments and the repair or production of new ship parts or floating devices are carried out indoors, inside a protected atmosphere. The whole transfer system, the shore berth areas and the launching platform, are provided by a railroad system; on these rails works cradles of high weight capacity, allowing the longitudinal and transversal movement of big weight ships, off-shore platform´s parts, buoys, etc.
